East Coast will have progressively higher high tides peaking in September. Expect erosion and flooding. ,

What the article on Europe’s 18 year high tides does not make clear is that we will be having progressively higher Proxgean tides throughout the year peaking on September 28, 29 and on into October. If we have any kind of significant weather during these windows of vulnerability we can expect more cumulative erosion, more nuisance flooding in Newburyport and potentially more sewer problems on Plum Island. I calculate the windows of vulnerability as anything over 9 feet. Both windows will also fall in August and October so there will be a significantly higher probability of problems during these months:
